I can remember...

I was 10 years old. The summer time was here. It meant late night snacks with my mom and waking up in the afternoon to the smell of cumin and pinto beans that go great with my mami's tacos. That was one of the things I got to experience growing up in a Mexican household. My mami always taught me to enjoy the best things of life. To take my time with my time on this Earth. My father taught me patience and to have integrity. Read books and enjoy the sun rays in the warmer days. I can remember when I was a kid and my home smelled of spices and the sound of the radio blasting loud in the kitchen. The culture I lived in was full of music, color, and smell. Growing up Mexican has taught me a lot of things, combined with my American born life, and I wish to spread the joy and love the latino community share. What has culture taught you?
